There Is No Second Place In A Courtroom

A doctor must be able to maintain and demand a high standard of care for his or her patients. That means not only from the doctor, but also the group and the staff at a hospital where the doctor maintains privileges. Without these fundamental tenants, healthcare in this country collapses. In one of the worst instances of subterfuge and character assassination, a local doctor was referred to the Ayres Law Office for assistance on a privilege matter.

Challenge:

The doctor’s prior attorney was unable to find resolution, while adverse findings were mounting against the doctor. The doctor’s practice and livelihood was compromised. With no leverage, the doctor was left in a defensive, passive position.

Solution:

The Ayres Law Office was hired and filed suit on the doctor’s behalf, using the age-old strategy that “the best defense is a good offense.” Immediately after suit was filed, the harassment ceased and the hospital requested to undertake settlement discussions.

Result:

After months of protracted litigation and negotiations, the doctor was able to settle the case on her terms with no adverse findings nor blemish on her record. Her practice was stabilized and she is now operating in a comfortable, secure environment.
